In 2017, Grace was “hawking” boiled eggs but one day she surprised her mum with a bag of Safi fertilizer
to try on the farm. “When I was growing up, my mom used to tell us that we should always believe in
ourselves”, recounts Grace. Fast forward and Grace is Safi’s receptionist. Her salary allows her to
educate her two children as well as meet their needs as they grow.
Safi Organics also offers youth employment opportunities. It is a chance for youth to gain employment
experience while learning about organic farming, agricultural best practices, and local solutions to
climate change. It is all part of Safi’s philosophy of engaging and giving back to local communities.
